While in training your bird dog will be well taken care of within Double A Plantation's personal kennel facilities. It is our goal at the Plantation kennel to provide a clean, safe and positive bird dog training environment in which your upland Gun Dog or Field Trial bird dog can learn and grow to become a highly trained bird dog.

*All bird Dogs / Gun dogs receive monthly deworming as well as flea and tick prevention.
*Our kennels are cleaned and sanitized daily.
* Fresh water is available at all times.
*Gun Dogs are fed daily with Purina Pro Plan Gun Dogs / bird dogs eat from clean and sanitized bowls
*Kennels are built on concrete and are protected from the elements.
*All bird dogs /Gun Dogs will be worked five days a week as weather permits
*Bird Dogs who are far enough in their training will have birds (Quail, Pheasant, Chukar) shot over them on the preserve and or on wild bird hunts.
*Bird dogs / Gun Dogs are trained in the way they will be hunted. Example: Walking gun dogs will be trained on foot; Horse back dogs will be trained from horseback etc.
*All Upland Dogs receive yard work; pigeon work and will be highly exposed to lots of Upland Game quail Pheasant Chukar.

The time it takes for training depends mostly on what the dog has already learned. Good habits are easily learned, bad habits take more time to contend with. I train all dogs with positive reinforcement; I believe that there isn't any reason to negatively impact or harshly correct a dogs actions.


Please feel free to come and hunt over your dog while it is in training (training must be far enough along to be safe for you and your dog)

$400.00 per month includes Training, Feed, and Medication for flea/tick and heartworm preventative
In Addition to Training Birds must be Purchased as well
